This Year In Ghost Rider...!

Yes, yes, I know.  Blog updates!  New Reviews!  Podcast stuff!  I have really let Vengeance Unbound wallow in nothingness for the last several months, and I'm going to try hard to rectify that this year.  There's a new podcast episode coming this week, so look forward to that!

There's also been a ton of new Ghost Rider comic news happening over the last week or so, stuff that I really ought to mention.  First up, of course, is "Damnation", which is a big honkin' crossover that just started last week with Damnation # 1.  The plot consists of Dr. Strange resurrecting the destroyed Las Vegas, only to accidentally open up a portal to Hell in the process.  Ghost Rider is a major player in this event, and even gets his own one-shot tie-in comic!  Johnny Blaze, Ghost Rider: Damnation # 1 is by writer Christopher Sebela and artist Phill Noto and will be released in March!

I'd also be remiss if I didn't point out the PODCAST tie-in to "Damnation"!  Inner Demons is partnering up with several other comic related podcasts - Into the Knight: A Moon Knight Podcast, the Immortal Iron Fist Podcast, and the Defenders TV Podcast - to each tackle reviews for parts of the event.  If you want to get an overview of the entirety of "Damnation" you'll have to journey through each podcast realm, starting this week with the newest episode of the Immortal Iron Fist Podcast

The next big announcements are for comics starting this summer.  In June, Jason Aaron and Ed McGuinness are launching the newest volume of Avengers, and they're bringing Ghost Rider Robbie Reyes along for the ride!  The series will feature the first Avengers team to include a Ghost Rider of any sort, and I'm really looking forward to see where Aaron takes Robbie after his appearance in Marvel Legacy # 1!

Finally, if you haven't been reading the Thanos series by Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw, shame on you.  Seriously, SHAME on YOU.  It's been an incredible series so far, and one of the big reasons for that is the Cosmic Ghost Rider that Cates and Shaw introduced in their first issue.  That character's sudden, massive popularity means that he's getting his own mini-series this summer, written by Donny Cates with a yet-to-be revealed artist.  They HAVE released the cover to the first issue, though, which you can see below.  And really people, go read Thanos, because it's awesome.
